Just like you, this is not how I pictured life at this age when I was younger. So much if our problem really rests on today's economy, however. If companies were doing well and desperate for workers, we wouldn't be having this conversation. We'd be working. The "over qualified" excuse isn't a new one. I'm ashamed to admit using it on job candidates 25 years ago. I often think about my parents and where they were at my age now, and they had setbacks, too. They were able to overcome them and move ahead, and my father worked up until the day he was hospitalized fir cancer at age 72. I have been self employed for the past couple of years and that's no picnic either. If we can all help each other remain positive I think it would make a huge difference in our lives.
