Matters of Fact

MATTERS OF FACT….Information is Power and it’s our goal to provide  current updates and information related to ageism and age discrimination issues !

WOULD YOU VOTE FOR A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE WHO WILL END AGE DISCRIMINATION?

•EVERY DAY WORKERS EXPERIENCE the DAMAGING AFFECTS of the 2009 Supreme Court ruling by Justice Clarence Thomas & other Justices in the case of (Robert Gross vs FBL, Farm Bureau Life the 83rd largest company in the world) Thomas set forth a new law and invented a new standard that radically undermines older workers and the first step in nullify the 1967 EEO Act“(we can see how that’s working for us)

 • A SLOW DEATH for AGING WORKERS in AMERICA   Jobless older workers no longer eligible for unemployment benefit extensions, without healthcare, social security, and medicare equates to a very predictable out come; an automatic slow death sentence for the 99 % as they age in America. Older workers make up 53 % of the unemployed and 77.5 % of the long term unemployed.

 • WOMEN WERE TARGETED FIRST with a Supreme Court decision in the case of (Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.) and dealt a near-fatal blow to their ability to use ( Title VII of the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 ) to remedy pay discrimination based on sex, race, national origin, and other protected grounds.

FIRST EQUAL PAY , NEXT AGE DISCRIMINATION, NOW BIRTH CONTROL .Unemployed Single women and single mom’s historically suffer more than other groups from age discrimination, sexual harassment, increased responsibilities with no pay increases and being passed over for promotions and it doesn’t stop there.

• RESPECTFULLY WE ARE PLEADING FOR AN OFFICIAL ACT  FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE LIKE THAT EXTENDED IN The “ Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009”  PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SIGNED INTO LAW  January 29, 2009 Reinstating  EQUAL PAY FOR WOMEN!

WE ARE COUNTING ON YOU MR. PRESIDENT?? _________________________________

It’s the Rich and the Rest of Us!Now that we know how they REALLY FEEL- Will We go silently to the slaughter??

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/04/opinion/blow-romney-the-rich-and-the-rest.html?_r=1&src=tp&smid=fb-share

It is becoming clearer EACH DAY HOW the rich & rich politicians really feel about the 99 % “ little People”,middle class ,former middle class , unemployed, seniors, the poor.

THEY KEEP TELLING US HOW THEY FEEL, but clearly  lots of people aren’t listening –getting the message-otherwise we  would get MAD AS HELL & DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!  ***Isn’t Mitt Romney the same multimillionaire who joked that he was “unemployed” while he was “earning” more in one day than most Americans earn in a year and paying a lower rate on those earnings than most Americans do. And who could forget his remark that “corporations are people.” Classic. But this week when Romney said that he wasn’t concerned about the very poor in this country, he jumped in the pickle barrel and went over the waterfall. This is the same man who bragged last month that he liked to fire people at a time when nearly 13 million people are out of work and who accepted the endorsement this week of Donald Trump, who has made “You’re Fired!” his television catchphrase.

Yes ,it does seem awfully convenient that the rights for individual-s to declare bankruptcy was removed only a few short years ago before the bubble burst, and yet the rights for a corporatio-n to declare bankruptcy is maintained. Mer
